Josh Inglis To Make IPL U-Turn After Rs 8.6 Crore Bid? Report Makes Startling Claim

Australian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis may postpone his honeymoon to take part in IPL 2026 immediately after his wedding, according to a report by Cricbuzz. The cricketer was released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction amid reports that he would play just four matches in the competition due to his wedding. However, a major surprise occurred on the day of the auction when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) engaged in a massive bidding war, with LSG eventually securing him for Rs 8.6 crore.

R Ashwin Responds As Fan Accuses Him Of Leaking Players CSK Were About To Target At IPL 2026 Auction

Ravichandran Ashwin has retired from international cricket and the Indian Premier League, but his keen interest and knowledge of the game keep him connected to it. The spinner, who now plays overseas tournaments post his IPL retirement, was putting up his analysis on social media on the IPL auction day, December 16, as well. He had predicted that five-time champions and his former team Chennai Super Kings would go big for uncapped players Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma. This is exactly what happened minutes after Ashwin's post.

"MS Dhoni Will Move On": CSK Head Coach Stephen Fleming's 'At Some Point' Remark At IPL 2026 Auction Creates Buzz

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming was quite honest while talking about the side's decision of trading Ravindra Jadeja for Sanju Samson. He admitted that the move was executed in order to keep the franchise prepared when MS Dhoni leaves. Notably, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter has guided CSK to a record-equalling five Indian Premier League titles. Given Dhoni is at the fag end of his career, CSK need a replacement to fill his shoes in the upcoming years.

Shubman Gill's Major Weakness, 28-Game Issue Exposed By Ex-India Batting Coach

Shubman Gill’s vulnerability against straight deliveries has emerged as an area of concern and the India opener needs to improve his footwork to counter the issue, former batting coach Sanjay Bangar said. Gill, India’s vice-captain in the T20 format, has managed 291 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 137.3, and Bangar pointed out that the opener’s scoring rate drops noticeably against deliveries pitched on a straight line. “In the beginning, his footwork was very positive. But if you remove three or four boundaries over 28 games, the issue has been on straighter lines. Against straight deliveries, his strike rate has fallen quite low,” Bangar said, urging the young opener to improve his footwork to counter this weakness,” Bangar said on Game Plan on JioStar.
